Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province made the list of Top 100 City Brands in China, according to the 2019 Chinese City Conference held in Beijing on Nov 30.

The list was compiled by China City News and People's Daily Culture Media Co based on data from the National Bureau of Statistics and the State Information Center.

Evaluation indicators included popularity, development strength, city brand, and public opinion on economy, culture, natural environment, and social services.

Quzhou placed 45th on the list largely due to its new city brand "Home of Southern Confucianism, A Model City of Courtesy".

Quzhou first published its brand last year, along with a brand logo (fist-and-palm salute), cartoon image (Grandpa Nankong, or Q-version image of Confucius), and mascot (happy deer).

In 2018, the gross regional production in the city amounted to 147.06 billion yuan ($20.92 billion) and the per capita disposable income of its urban and rural residents stood at 43,100 yuan and 22,300 yuan respectively.

The city has received the "Dayu Ding" award for its achievements in river management by the provincial government five years in a row and in 2018 its local residents' satisfaction in river management surpassed any other city in the province.

Moreover, Quzhou was the first city in Zhejiang province to implement the "At Most One Visit" service reform. Thanks to the reform, more than 900 services are now accessible at one service window and business projects will obtain approval in a maximum of 100 days.

Suzhou in Jiangsu province and Wenzhou in Zhejiang took the top two spots on the list. Five other cities in Zhejiang were also listed – Shaoxing, Jiaxing, Jinhua, Huzhou and Taizhou.
