Quzhou solicits articles for contest
Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province started soliciting articles about the city on Nov 11, according to local media reports.
The content of the submitted works must be original and should showcase the city's culture, natural environment, as well as its significant changes in the past and present.
These works can be submitted by emailing to 864162608@qq.com with the attachment named "short essays to compliment Quzhou" before the deadline of Dec 15.
The submitted works should be limited to 1,000 words for essays and short documentary writings or 20 lines for poetry.
A maximum of 46 winners are expected to be selected from participants, with rewards of up to 10,000 yuan ($1,428) to be given to each winner.
The results will be announced at the end of December and award-winning articles will be showcased at the same time.
The competition is organized by Quzhou Daily Media Group and the Quzhou Writers Association.
Quzhou is an ancient city with a history of more than 1,800 years and a civilization history dating back about 9,000 years. In recent years, the city has been pursuing innovative development through the high-tech, e-commerce, and tourism industries.
