Danish high school students visit Quzhou
Fifteen high school students from the Hasserris Gymnasium in Aalborg, Denmark, recently paid a week-long visit to the No 2 High School in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
The Danish students boarded and attended class with Quzhou students, giving them a taste of daily life in China.
"It's really a different culture from the one we felt in Denmark and it's really nice and fun to try a different culture," said Frederick, a Danish student.
The trip helped the Danish students understand the differences between Denmark and China and cultivated in them a more international mindset, according to Annie, a teacher from the Hasserris Gymnasium.
Annie has visited Quzhou seven times and has always been impressed by the hospitality of Chinese students and teachers, as well as the country's rich traditional culture.
Huang Daning from Quzhou high school said in an interview that having classes with Danish students provides Chinese students with a great opportunity to learn about a different culture and improve their oral English.
In 2013, Quzhou No 2 High School signed an agreement with the Hasserris Gymnasium and since then, the Danish high school has been sending students to Quzhou every year.
According to Nan Hong, director of the international exchange center of Quzhou No 2 High School, students from the Quzhou school would visit Hasserris Gymnasium over the upcoming winter holiday and stay with host families to experience local life and traditional culture in Denmark.
