National specialty paper conference opens in Quzhou
The 2019 National Specialty Paper Conference opened in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Oct 15, marking the opening of the 14th annual conference of Specialty Paper Committee.
The three-day event attracted more than 20 specialty paper experts and scholars and 260 representatives from over 100 specialty paper manufacturers who explored the latest products and technologies in the industry.
The 2019 China International Specialty Paper Expo is also being held concurrently with the conference and is being attended by more than 300 buyers from home and abroad as well as 500 representatives in the industry who will showcase their newest equipment, devices, chemicals, and raw materials.
On the second day of the conference, the 2019 China Specialty Paper Industry Development Forum was held, inviting experts and directors of renowned companies to discuss the development of the specialty paper industry in Japan, India and China.
Participants of the event will also visit the Traditional Skill Research Center of Kaihua Paper in Kaihua county, Quzhou on Oct 17.
Quzhou is known for being the hometown of specialty paper in China. In recent years, the industry has been developing rapidly in the city, particularly in Longyou county and Qujiang district.
Statistics show that Quzhou is now home to 61 specialty paper manufacturers above designated size and more than 130 production lines for over 100 types of specialty paper.
The paper is widely used for cigarettes, medical materials, food, and printing.
The annual output value of the specialty paper industry in the city exceeded 17 billion yuan ($2.4 billion) in 2018.
