The 2019 Belt and Road Asian Water Skiing Competition is scheduled to take place in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, on Oct 17-20, according to a press conference held in the city on Sept 4.

To date, more than 300 players from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and other countries have signed up for the event.

In addition, the first Zhejiang Rescue Boarding Competition will be held concurrently with the water skiing competition.

Rescue boarding is part of paddle boarding, an emerging water sport, which has gained its popularity around the world over the past few years.

Paddle boards can be divided into surfboards, yoga boards and rescue boards by function. Of these, the rescue paddle is a new kind of water life preserver featuring good vision, wide universality of application and environmental friendliness.
