Quzhou-funded high-rise debuts in Xinjiang county

A new Innovation Building in Uqturpan county, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, which will provide a major boost to innovation in local economy, went into service on Aug 5.

It was funded by the prefecture city of Quzhou in eastern Zhejiang province, officials said.

Located in the county's Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Industry Park, the building covers an area of 1,949 square meters with a total investment of 42 million yuan ($5.96 million).

The building is expected to bring together SMEs, incubators and companies involved in the intelligent and e-commerce industries to speed up the development of digital economy in Uqturpan.

Officials said the new building will surely improve local business environment so as to attract more outstanding businesses and high-caliber professionals to Uqturpan.

Uqturpan is a State-level poverty-stricken county.

In order to help eradicate local poverty through industrial upgrading, Quzhou has launched 212 projects and invested 1.93 billion yuan in the county over the past nine years, including the SME industry park and fruit processing companies.
