Young cross-Straits basketball players compete in Quzhou

The fifth Cross-Straits Teenager Basketball Game kicked off in Quzhou, eastern Zhejiang province, on Aug 3.

A total of 34 basketball teams from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan signed up for the competition with matches divided into three age groups – U11, U12 and U15.

The chief referee of the High School Basketball League in Taiwan was invited to take charge of the tournament and liaised closely with Quzhou counterparts on the sidelines of the event.

The fifth edition of the basketball game was guided by the Quzhou Municipal Bureau of Sports and the Quzhou Sports Federation and sponsored by the culture, tourism and sports bureau of Kecheng district and Zhejiang Senhua Culture Development Co.

Organizers said that after five years of development, the Cross-Straits Teenager Basketball Game has grown into an event receiving a great deal of attention from the sports industry in China.
