Folk culture in Quzhou towns wins provincial recognition
Folk culture in five Quzhou towns recently entered the list of Town of Folk Culture and Art in Zhejiang, according to local media reports.

In recent years, Zhanjia town focused on the training of bamboo flute player and cultivated more such professionals.
More than 3,000 Zhanjia natives have attended the training class as of now. In the farmland or at recreational places, it is a quite common scene that Zhanjia natives play bamboo flute to express their feelings.
Burning incense straw dragon dance of Suzhuang town of Kaihua county
The burning incense straw dragon dance with a history of more than 1,100 years is rather popular in the rural areas of Kaihua county while the performance in Suzhuang town is recognized as the most splendid.
The dragon is made of straw and stuck with incenses all over its body. Once the dance starts, the incenses get lit, making the performance like a fire dragon flying in the sky.
Lantern Day of Majin town in Kaihua county
The Lantern Day, which falls on the eighth day of the first lunar month, features a long "lamp" consisting of more than 100 benches with colorful small lamps on them.
On the day, led by a dragon lantern bench, the massive troop will start from the village committee and patrol around the whole village. When passing by a villager' house, firecrackers will be set off to welcome them.
Folk songs of Nianbadu town in Jiangshan
As a juncture of Zhejiang, Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, Nianbadu was a town of immigrants, which housed residents of more than 140 family names and featured a dozen of dialects, and these immigrants brought their own folk songs and popular tune.
Nianbadu town's folk songs are the integration of these immigrants' folk songs and popular tune.
Male-female duet is the major performance of Nianbadu folk songs and their lyrics are usually improvisational.
