Quzhou in eastern Zhejiang province will present a great National Mind Games with efficient and attentive services and a pleasant environment, said Tang Feifan, mayor of the city.

Speaking on July 31 at the countdown ceremony for the event, Tang said as one of the birthplaces of Weiqi -- the abstract strategy board game for two players, Quzhou boasts a long history of mind games.

He added that in recent years, the city had inspired its creative development and built an urban brand of its own by relying on sports events, and body building has gained its popularity among local residents, both of which had helped Quzhou build an atmosphere conducive to the upcoming mind games.

The 4th National Mind Games, which runs on Nov 8-18 in Quzhou, will include six different competitions -- Weiqi, Chinese chess, chess, bridge, five-in-a-row and draughts.

The first National Mind Games Expo is expected to be held at Quzhou Convention and Exhibition Center during the mind games.

At the opening and closing ceremonies of the event, the city's most representative elements, specifically Confucius, chess pieces, Happy Deer -- Quzhou's mascot, and Grandpa Nankong -- a cartoon image of Confucius, will be showcased and the two ceremonies together will display a beautiful China, smart Zhejiang and garden city Quzhou.
