After a 16 hour selection process, 19 works submitted by Quzhou-born artists made their way onto the final list of the 14th Art Exhibition of Zhejiang Province, local media outlets reported on July 11.

The fierce competition filtered out hundreds of artistic works that were submitted from across the province.

As a nationally renowned historic city, Quzhou has never been short of artists.

This year, the number of Quzhou participants hit a record high, said Pan Yu, deputy secretary-in-general of the Quzhou Artists Association.

Pan said during the interview that he expects more and more Quzhou residents could participate in attending art exhibitions or even creating art, which will enrich the ancient city's cultural deposits.

The 14th Art Exhibition of Zhejiang Province will run at Zhejiang Art Museum from July 12 to 28.
