Quzhou grottoes to debut on German TV

The renowned Quzhou grottoes are set to become even more famous – this time in Europe – after a major television network filmed there recently.

Local officials said Peter Prestel, a director from the largest German TV station – Second German Television -- brought his crew to film Longyou grotto in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on July 2.

Officials said they film crew members were all impressed by the marvelous surrounding natural geological structures when entering the grotto.

According to Teng Wenzhen, producer of the camera crew from Shanghai, they planned to spend three days filming the interior and surrounding environment of the five major developed grottoes in Longyou and interview staff at the Longyou Grotto Institute about these grottoes' detection and protection.

"We will showcase the beauty of Longyou and the secrets of the grottoes to our German audience through our lens and interviews," Teng said.

The video about Longyou grotto is part of the documentary series Unexplained Mysteries of World Archaeology – Mysterious Grottoes produced by the German TV station, which is expected to be aired on local television in November 2019.
