Quzhou, in East China's Zhejiang province, will host annual New Year's Shopping Festival at the city's Convention And Exhibition Center from Jan 14 to 27, five more days than the previous events, local media reported on Dec 26.
Organized by the Quzhou Daily Media Group Co Ltd, the festival has attracted more than 100,000 visitors over the past six years.
When entering the twelfth month of the lunar year in China, people will prepare various delicacies for the upcoming Spring Festival, including making rice cakes, frozen candy rice, and smoked pork, as well as slaughtering pigs or sheep.
The Quzhou shopping festival is the occasion when local residents can purchase all the ingredients or delicacies they need for their New Year dinner.
The upcoming festival will offer goods from all around the world, such as local meat and vegetables, seafood from Zhoushan, a coastal city in Zhejiang, fruits from Taiwan and imported snacks and beverages, according to a staff member from the organizer.
Local residents can also purchase these goods from the cellphone app, Handheld Quzhou.
