Established with the approval of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government in September 1992, the Zone was approved as a State-level economic and technological zone in June 2011.

With more than 20 years’ development, it has grown into a cluster housing industries like advanced equipment manufacturing, new energy, and electronic information, and has become a State-level aerodynamic machinery industry base and provincial-level center for photovoltaics and electronic components and materials. With a growth rate of over 40 percent for many consecutive years, the Zone is a growth pole for Quzhou’s economy.
