Quzhou University (QZU) is a public full-time comprehensive undergraduate university with special emphasis on science and engineering. The school is located in Quzhou, covering an area of 704 mu (469,333 square meters).

QZU consists of seven colleges, namely College of Chemical and Materials Engineering, College of Mechanical Engineering, College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, College of Electrical and Information Engineering, College of Economy and Trade management, College of Teacher Education and College of Foreign Languages. It offers 23 undergraduate and nine professional training programs in six disciplines, including engineering, literature, science, education, art and management. At present, there are more than 7,100 full-time students on campus, including over 5,400 undergraduates. The school also has four provincial first-class disciplines of the 13th Five-Year Plan, one provincial undergraduate advantage discipline and three provincial characteristic disciplines. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment in QZU is 135 million yuan ($19.6 million). The school also has a collection of over 90 million books and a total of over 1,260 Chinese and foreign newspapers and periodicals. Meanwhile, it has an affiliated school with nine-year compulsory education.

Currently, QZU has 621 teachers, including 452 full-time teachers. There are 47 teachers with senior professional title and 134 with deputy senior professional title. The university is encouraging professors and doctors to take up positions in enterprises and institutions. Teachers are also encouraged to participate in exchange activities from home and abroad, obtaining related professional qualification certificates. QZU has been involved in 20 doctor workstations’ constructions, effectively improving the practical ability, comprehensive quality and social services level of teachers.

QZU has won five second prizes of Zhejiang higher education teaching achievements, more than 1,000 provincial third prizes in discipline competitions and nearly 200 national third prizes. The employment rate of graduates is above 96 percent, and the quality of graduates is highly praised by employers. The number of students passing the 2018 postgraduate entrance exams accounts for 19.3 percent of the graduates, ranking in the forefront of similar universities in the province.

The school has been insisting on opening-up, and has established cooperative relations with universities and colleges in Taiwan and countries including the U.S., Germany, South Korea and Sweden, promoting education internationalization. At present, the school has received its first batch of international students.
