Longyou bast paper production skill is a kind of traditional paper making skill which is popular in Longyou region and enjoys a history of more than 1,400 years. It was included in the “third batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection list” in 2011.

The production process of Longyou bast paper is rather complicated requiring more than 30 procedures. There are more than 30 kinds of bast papers. The whole production process is completed by hands and the skill is only inherited between the master and apprentice.
