Fan Ying (1434-1508) was a government official of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). He was renowned for having a righteous character, and clean-handed and care-for-people work style. Fan refused gifts from rich people when he started his career at the age of 34 and dismissed more than 1,700 incompetent officials when he made an inspection tour to Southwest China in his seventies. He was framed by treacherous court eunuch Liu Jin in 1506 and had his reputation rehabilitated in 1520.
