Foreign diplomats seek BRI cooperation in Quzhou
A delegation of representatives from four state consulates of Columbia, Nigeria, Indonesia and the Czech Republic based in Shanghai visited Quzhou, Zhejiang province on Dec 11 seeking potential cooperation on Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects.
The visit was jointly organized by the Quzhou government and the Council for Promoting South-South Cooperation (CPSSC), a non-profit organization aiming to facilitate the friendly exchanges between China and developing countries.
The field trip was an opportunity for foreign diplomats to have a better understanding of Quzhou's social development and prospect for investments, according to Fu Shuigen, vice president of CPSSC.
Xu Wenguang, mayor of Quzhou extended a warm welcome to the delegation and paid his gratitude to CPSSC for its efforts in promoting BRI projects.
Xu said the prospect for cooperation with Quzhou is bright as the city possesses profound culture and beautiful natural landscapes. The convenient transportation network will make it more convenient for connecting the city with the outside world.
In recent years, Quzhou has been actively participating in the development of China's BRI and working towards innovating its modes for trade and investment. Xu hopes the state consulates of different countries can join hands with Quzhou in the urban development and he pledges to provide them with the best services.
Visitors had face-to-face discussions with local officials and exchanged ideas on the construction of some major projects including an exhibition hall for BRI. The CPSSC played the role of a platform to build bridges for the two sides.
The delegation visited places in Quzhou featuring entrepreneurship and innovation such as Park 258 and a building called Quzhou Epoch.
