Longyou County
Longyou county is located in central-western Zhejiang province and covers an area of 1,143 square kilometers. There are about 367,000 people living in its 13 towns and two subdistricts.
Longyou has a long history and rich culture, a convenient location, many scenic spots, and a booming economy.
The county is home to the Neolithic sites of Qingdui and Hehuashan and has a history of more than 9,000 years. It was established around 2,230 years ago and is one of the 13 oldest counties in Zhejiang.
A total of 157 imperial examination candidates and numerous other historic and cultural figures came from Longyou, as did four academicians.
It takes just 30 to 90 minutes to travel between Longyou and Quzhou, Yiwu, and Xiaoshan airport, and the county connects eastern and central Zhejiang with Jiangxi, Anhui, and Fujian provinces. Moreover, Longyou is part of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster the Economic Zone on the West Side of the Straits, the Central Zhejiang city cluster, and the Jinhua-Quzhou-Lishui industrial belt.
Its most famous attractions include the Longyou grottoes, known as the ninth wonder of the world, clusters of residential buildings, Lyuchunhu Mountain, bamboo forests, and Rosewood Town.
