The Hangzhou Asian Games torch relay reached its 11th leg in Quzhou on Sept 19. The relay covered 8,844 meters, starting from the Temple of Southern Confucianism and ending at the Quzhou Municipal Square. This was the second to last stop of the relay.

The Temple of Southern Confucianism is where the southern descendants of Confucius worshiped their ancestors. It was built in the style of the Confucius Temple in Qufu during the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and is a historical and cultural treasure.

The torchbearers included moral models, athletes, coaches, scientists, community workers and disabled people.

The first torchbearer was Kong Lingli, the 76th direct grandson of Confucius. He promotes Confucian culture and has been recognized as an inheritor of the Confucius memorial ceremony and a Chinese filial piety culture ambassador.

The last torchbearer was Zhang Xinyu, a 13-year-old professional Go player. He was the first national Go champion and first local professional Go player in Quzhou.
