Lingjiushan cross country race wraps up

More than 800 competitors from around the world took part in the 2019 Lingjiushan International Cross Country Competition, which was held in Kecheng, a district in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, from Nov 16-17.

The competition was divided into five distance groups: 8 km, 15 km, 30 km, 50 km, and 100 km.

The most challenging 100 km race passed by the nine mountains of the Lingjiushan Mountain, connecting all the scenic spots in northern Quzhou and enabling runners to experience both beautiful landscapes and arduous mountain roads.

After a fierce competition, Zhao Jiajun from China won the men's 100 km cross country race with a time of 16 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds. In the women's 100 km cross country race, Chinese runner Zhang Qiuhong claimed first place with a time of 24 hours, 39 minutes, and 34 seconds.

To offer a safe and successful competition, civilian rescue teams with abundant experience in mountain rescue, Jiangshan Red Shield and Quzhou Blue Sky, were present.

Additionally, each runner's position was also showcased in real time on screen at the rescue headquarters in Kecheng district via GPS chips.

The competition was sponsored by the Quzhou Municipal Government, the Sports Bureau of Quzhou, and the Kecheng district government.
