The Quzhou Rowing Challenge -- part of the 2019 World-famous Universities Sports Series -- took place in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on Sept 11.
Seventeen groups from 16 universities in nine countries attended the competition, including the University of California, the University of London, Peking University, and Zhejiang University.
Alex Berg, a second year at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, said the facilities in Quzhou were perfect for rowers.
Berg added that Quzhou is a beautiful city and he planned to stay five days to get to know the area better, before heading to Beijing and the Great Wall. "To climb the Great Wall is my dream," said he.
After fierce competition, the University of Amsterdam and University of Sydney won gold in the men and women's categories.
The rowing competition was sponsored by the International Sports Exchange Center at China's General Administration of Sport, the Sport Bureau of Zhejiang Province and the Quzhou Municipal Government.
