Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province promoted itself in Xi'an in West China's Shaanxi province on June 1.

Tang Feifan, mayor of Quzhou, introduced the city, talking about its profound history, beautiful landscapes and favorable business environment as well as its newly-launched brand: Home of Southern Confucianism, Model City of Courtesy.

Traditional handicraft craftsmen from Quzhou demonstrated their skills in wood carving, egg carving, sugar figure making and straw rain cape making, while 14 scenic spots in Quzhou were made free to Xi'an residents who pay a visit this June.

The 14 scenic spots are Lanke Mountain, Yaowang Mountain (also known as the King of Medicine Mountain), Tianji Longmen Scenic Area, Longyou Grottoes, Longyou Residential Buildings, Jianglang Mountain, Xianxia Gate, the ancient Nianbadu town, the ancient Qingyang village, Fugai (Floating Cap) Mountain, Sanqu Stone Forest, Meishudi village, Qianjiangyuan National Forest Park, and the Root Palace Buddhist Cultural Tourism Zone.

Quzhou once bore the same name as Xi'an more than 1,000 years ago. The latter is one of the most important birthplaces of Chinese civilization, having been the capital of ancient China for 10 dynasties. Today the city remains widely celebrated, attracting numerous tourists from home and abroad each year.
