Quzhou assists Xinjiang county to overcome poverty

The industrial park built by Quzhou city, East China's Zhejiang province in the town of Uqturpan county, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region started operation on May 11.

Quzhou invested nearly 60 million yuan ($8.75 million) in building factories at the industrial park, which covers an area of 600 mu (40 hectares).

Entrepreneurs from Quzhou and other Zhejiang cities have decided to establish four companies at the industrial park with a total investment of 700 million yuan.

After the four companies' operation, they are expected to offer 1,350 full-time jobs to local residents.

Deputy Party committee of Uqturpan county promised that all the government departments in the county will do their best to improve the business environment and help companies solve their problems in a bid to get rid of poverty as soon as possible.

Uqturpan is a State-level poverty-stricken county. In order to help eradicate local poverty through industrial upgrading, Quzhou has launched 50 projects in Uqturpan with a total investment of 454 million yuan over the past two years, including the SMEs Industry Park and fruit processing companies.

These projects have brought in 1.58 billion yuan worth of investment and made the growth rate of local per capita disposable income higher than the national average.
