Chinese runner wins Quzhou women's marathon event

A total of 9,652 runners from home and abroad braved the drizzle and cool air to compete in the 2018 Quzhou Marathon on Dec 9 in Quzhou, Zhejiang province.
The runners were spread across three separate races, including the 42.2 km full marathon, the 21.1 km half-marathon, and the 3.5 km mini marathon.
After a fiercely competitive race, Chinese runner Kong Jie won the women's full marathon with a time of 2 hours 46 minutes and 23 seconds, 15 minutes ahead of the second place finisher. In the men's full marathon, Koecoh Joshua Kiptoo from Kenya claimed first place with a time of 2 hours 25 minutes and 50 seconds.
The race is well-known for its scenic views and runners passed by the city's many popular scenic spots, including the Urban Exhibition Hall, Qujiang Bridge, Wenchang Tower and Shuiting Gate.
