Quzhou city – which is situated in East China's Zhejiang province – is reportedly issuing digital license plates, breaking new ground in the metropolis.

On Oct 9, the Qujiang district issued digital license plates for electric mobiles – the first of its kind in Quzhou and the second time they have been issued in Zhejiang, according to local media reports.

Compared with the current electric mobiles license plate, the new digital license plate adds a QR code. As long as the users scan it, they can get the full basic information of vehicles and check out whether the parameters of the vehicle and the battery match.

The Qujiang district will reportedly coordinate with local authorities in terms of the whole electric-mobile industry supply chain. That is expected to involve closed-loop regulation of production, sales, maintenance and parking.
