The entire Beautiful Road along a River in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, opened to traffic on April 28, local media reported.

Costing a total of 3.2 billion yuan ($452 million), the road extends 215 kilometers and connects all six counties in Quzhou, making it the longest road along a river in Zhejiang.

As an example of the Beautiful Transportation Economic Corridor project in Zhejiang, the road also functions as a dam and connects surrounding airports, high-speed railway stations, and truck highways, forming a convenient transportation system for all-for-one tourism in the city.

The road connects more than 20 scenic spots at the 3A level or above and over 60 ancient cultural villages throughout the city, as well as 10 scenic spots in Qujiang district, Jiangshan port, and Changshan port.

The road began being designed in 2016 and has an open and green design. It is meant to benefit the locals and provide many scenic views.

Many important places along the road will be equipped with service centers, bike-rental spots, and sightseeing structures. Some sections of the road will also offer bike paths.

On the day of the road's official opening, cooperation agreements on 12 industrial projects costing 6.58 billion yuan were also signed to further take advantage of the tourism market along the road.
