The Longyou port area in Longyou, a county in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang, delivered 560,070 tons of goods and 3,646 containers last year, according to local media reports.

The port area began first operating in early 2019.

Over the past year, Longyou county has cooperated with various ports throughout China in places like Jiaxing, Ningbo, and Zhenhai in Zhejiang province, Jiangyin and Changshu in Jiangsu province, Zhoukou in Henan province, and Jining in Shandong province, according to Zhang Liming, deputy general manager of Zhejiang Sea Port Longyou Port Affairs Co.

Zhang noted that cooperation with these ports has greatly boosted business for Longyou port and its surrounding companies.

In addition, after the Qujiang waterway opened to traffic last year, it helped alleviate traffic congestion in the county and reduced the negative impacts of vehicles on the natural environment by advocating the use of clean energy and the development of a low-carbon economy.
