The figure "70" and Chinese characters "birthday of PRC" have been made by colorful paddy-fields at the foot of Jianglang Mountain, a world natural heritage site in Quzhou, eastern Zhejiang province, to greet the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Quzhou has demonstrated such paddy-field designs for nine consecutive years at Jianglang Mountain.

Initiated in 2011 to commemorate the first anniversary of Jianglang Mountain's successful application to become a world natural heritage site, Quzhou introduced the colorful rice.

Since then, the city has presented paddy-field designs, including "中国梦" or Chinese dream and "衢州有礼" or polite Quzhou.

Colorful paddies have become one of the highlights of Jianglang Mountain scenic areas and attract numerous visitors every year from June to September. They were also chosen among the first batch of China's beautiful countryside by the Ministry of Agriculture.
